Apparently Google have embedded the recognition tech into chrome via 'about this image', according to the 
community note on this post:

On Windows 7 I'm using Chrome Version 109.0.5414.120 (Official Build) (64-bit) and I can't see any way to 
get 'about this image' direct from the X/Twitter post...

I think the closest API I can find for this is to use Gemini:

Here is an alternative AI image detector from HIVE MODERATION:
