2018-07-27 16:14 AEST by Arthur Barrett - CVSNT 2.8 is compiled using Visual Studio 2003 just like 2.5 was. TortoiseAct, WinCVS and WinMerge are
compiled using Visual Studio 2003. TortoiseOverlays is compiled using Visual Studio 2005.
I *think* CVSNT 2.5.05 may have been compiled (or at least tested with) Visual Studio 2005. Ditto EVS.
I have seen some bulletin board posts indicating that Qualys is 'flagging' these older visual C runtimes in
corporate environments as being a security risk.

As shown in that thread - even some Microsoft products (ConfigMgr 2012) were still relying on 2005 runtime
until just recently.
But we need to fix this.
Our roadmap had called for 2.8.02 to still be built with 2005, not 2015. This may have to change.
Uniface 9.7.05/10.3 will apparently be built with VS2015 so that would be a logical target. |
