i.e.: you may be happy with the security of your server, but when something is 'checked out' should it be
encrypted?
i.e.: a PDF is stored in the RCS file on the server as an UNENCRYPTED pdf, but when it is checked out should
it be encrypted?
But then what do you do with a text file, or c++ or java source code? It has no 'native' encryption.
Of course we can pgp encrypt anything, but the end application doesn't necessarily have a 'nice' way of
handling the decryption of it and ensuring it is rewritten as encrypted, e.g.: visual studio or eclipse. Maybe
dependant on bug 7095, but that would basically make it windows only. |
