It's a 'new' type of 2FA (two factor authentication).
There is a very similar thing produced by Intel, which is more or less cross platform I think
(Android/iOS at least):

I wonder if this is a 'good enough' replacement for FIPS and SecurID in a small commercial
environment. Obviously FIPS and SecurID are still the top of the line security and will be needed in
military grade installations - but otherwise... |
