there is a new version available. Would need a control panel option to turn the
check off, maybe only run it on the client side, and only one check / day or
week or so. Could help to 1) keep users up to date on current fixes and 2)
encourage more of the 'small' renewals.
Along the same lines, a server side check is a good idea too just not sure how
would present it -- a message to the client would be broadcast, maybe only "if
admin" then present the "Newer version of CVS Suite Server is available".
Also, a "very old" version reminder might be good in case they have the check
disabled by firewall blocking / isolation. E.g. if the version is 12+ months
old and checks aren't working then send a message "Check for updated version
from March Hare". |
